Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better. You’ve probably heard this phrase, but did you know it was the brainchild of a French pharmacist over 100 years ago? Welcome to the world of Émile Coué, a man who believed in the extraordinary power of suggestion and convinced thousands that positive thinking could improve their lives.

But is the Coué Method real mental transformation or just delusional self-talk? Let’s dive in.

Who Was Émile Coué?

Born in 1857, Émile Coué wasn’t your average pharmacist. He noticed early in his career that patients who believed in the efficacy of their medicine experienced better results. This wasn’t about the medicine itself; it was about belief.

Coué then developed the idea that if positive beliefs could enhance physical healing, the same could apply to the mind. He formulated a system of autosuggestion — repeating positive affirmations daily to convince the subconscious of a new reality.
