The Faithful Soul: A Dog’s Farewell to His Master

A poem

Beyond the skies, I rest in peace,
My soul light, my heart at ease,
Yet sorrow lingers, a fleeting shadow,
For without you, I feel the hollow.

Oh beloved master, in the golden light,
I recall our days, shining bright,
Your gentle touch, your tender words,
Every moment shared, deeply heard.

In this paradise, where grass is eternal,
Where rivers sing a melody immortal,
I run endlessly, free from pain,
But your absence, my only strain.

I see the angels, their radiant smile,
Their soft wings brush the heavens in style,
But my hope, whispered with each breath,
Is to see you again, beyond death.

I thank you, from my loyal heart’s core,
For every walk, every night, every more,
For the pure love you always gave,
For the cherished memories, I’ll save.

Know that I watch, even from afar,
That my spirit always seeks your star,
And when your time comes, my dear friend,
We’ll be reunited, forever, without end.

So do not weep, dry your tears,
For I am here, safe from fears,
And though the distance is great and wide,
Our souls forever, will stay allied.
